Consent Workflow Description

When a user signs up for a GreatSpot account (via our web or mobile interface), they see a form that includes a checkbox labeled: “I agree to receive SMS notifications (parking confirmations, reminders, traffic alerts, promotions) from GreatSpot. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.”

That checkbox is not pre-checked; the user must manually check it. Only then may they proceed to submit the signup form. This ensures affirmative opt-in.

After submission, our backend records the timestamp, user ID, mobile number, and the fact that opt-in was granted. We never send SMS messages to users who did not explicitly opt in, and all messages include an unsubscribe mechanism (e.g. “Reply STOP”).

In addition, users may opt in (or manage their preferences) from their account settings later, via an “SMS Notifications” toggle (with equivalent language).
